Fredrik Vraalsen - Data Platform Architect at Oslo Origo

Speech:   Sharing and reuse of data in the City of Oslo

What data does the City of Oslo need about its citizens and our services in order to offer and deliver municipal services as seamlessly as illustrated by the animated Story of Tim (http://bit.ly/historien-om-tim)? The Oslo Origo Data Platform team works with solutions for safe and easy sharing and reuse of the city's data, both within the city administration and externally with businesses and residents. To achieve this, we must work with culture and organisation, law and regulations, as well as creating technical solutions. In this talk we'll share some of the use cases and challenges we are working on.

Fredrik is the tech lead and architect on the Data Platform team of Oslo Origo in the City of Oslo administration. The team works on establishing a data platform as part of the city's new developer service platform, with the goal to provide users with safe and easy ways to access, share and analyze data across the city government. Fredrik has previously worked as a data engineer in Schibsted, where he focused on real-time event stream processing, utilizing Kafka and Kafka Streams to route, filter, transform and enrich 800 million daily incoming user events.
