TORULF MOLLESTAD PH.D, CHIEF CONSULTANT AT THE ANALYTICS DEPARTMENT AT ACANDO NORWAY
Speech: Revealing Unwarranted Access to Sensitive Data in Health Analytics
Revealing Unwarranted Access to Sensitive Data: A Scenario-based Approach In Norwegian organisations, hundreds of million lookups are made yearly. Much of this activity addresses sensitive data, the access to which is highly restricted and disallowed for any but those having a clear need for that information. For instance, in a hospital domain, a doctor has the need to access patient data that is needed and relevant to treatment, whereas a hospital secretary will at any point access information about a large number of patients. In both situations it may be reasonably defended that the employee has a genuine need to access data about the patient, albeit different types of data. However, if your neighbour works in your local hospital and it is revealed that this person knows details of your health information without apparent reason, there may be grounds to suspect that this information has been accessed in dishonest ways. How, then, may we reveal employees that access and read data that they have no reason to consult, and thereby abuse the trust given to them? In this presentation we present a method developed in cooperation with Oslo University Hospital. We analysed a large amount of lookup data and were able to prioritise them according to their likelihood of being illicit. The method has proven to be valid and has been chosen as a base for a planned solution of information security in Norwegian health organisations.

THOMAS W. KÖHL , VICE PRESIDENT MOBILE INTELLIGENCE & INNOVATION
SPEECH: A Roadmap "from a lot of data to big data"
Link Mobility is building up a Mobile Intelligence unit. How to collect and aggregate a large volume of transaction data primarily used for billing purposes and turn this data into available insight for customers and business development. - How to design and build a data lake that in the end will handle almost 3 bill. SMS transactions and deliver commercial insight solution to approx. 16.000 customers in 9 countries – all in 7 month Impact: Accelerating the use of our own data, and provide insights in previously ”black box” areas. As a result we at the same time minimize data fragmentation in LINK, By providing access (internal and external) to insights is leading to improved quality of Link Mobility products and services as well as making our partners & clients more effective in winning, growing and keeping valuable customers through use of intelligence.

ROGELIO ANDRADE MANCISIDOR, PHD CANDIDATE UIT (UNIVERSITY OF TROMSØ) & SANTANDER CONSUMER BANK
SPEECH: How to use Deep Variational Auto Encoders in Segment-based credit risk assesments
It has been shown that segment-based credit scoring, in some cases, can improve the overall classification accuracy in the credit risk assesment for new customers applying for a loan product. Currently, Rogelio has developed a model using the flexibility of Deep Variational Auto Encoders to identify hidden segments, in a given customer portfolio, with significantly different risk profiles. Financial institutions can leverage this valuable segmentation to conduct segment-based credit risk assesment, i.e. build classification models on each segment.
Rogelio is a PhD candidate in Machine Learning at the Machine Learning Group at the University of Tromsø. His research focus is Deep Learning models for credit risk. Specifically, he works with Deep Variational Auto Encoders, which are a specific methodology in the generative models. The research project is funded by Santander Consumer Bank - Nordics. The focus of Rogelio’s research is on applications of different Machine Learning techniques in the field of Credit Risk Modeling using Santander Bank’s data. Credit Risk arises with the uncertainty of whether a client will pay back a granted loan. Machine Learning has shown to outperform traditional classification techniques in this field.
