Speech: Becoming a large scale radio operator with Google BigQuery
Elvia has 900-thousand devices that continuously communicate meter readings and other telemetry. The communication of this data is implemented via radio mesh which is a peer-to-peer radio communication technology. The company has now become a radio network operator in addition to being a traditional utility company. With no suitable software tools available for managing such a network on the market, Elvia implemented its own based on running large scale queries over the time series data from the devices in Google BigQuery.
